The EPA recently pledged to reduce “requests for and funding of” chemical testing studies conducted on mammals by 30% by 2025, according to a US News & World Report article.
EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler spoke and signed a directive in September 2019 calling for the reductions, which he said are a part of a larger plan to completely forgo the practice historically decried by animal rights activists by the year 2035.

No chemical testing on animals by 2035?
